RCS Messaging

Upgrade your nonprofit’s messaging with RCS—rich, interactive text messages that go beyond plain SMS.

Goal: Go beyond plain text—send rich, interactive messages that meet people right where they are: in their native messaging app.

Who’s it for: Those looking for a more engaging, branded, and effective way to reach supporters—with media-rich messaging.

How it works

  1. Pick an audience: You can work with an existing list you’ve already imported or segment a list to focus on a narrow audience.
  2. Craft your message: Write your own or choose from 125+ pre-written templates. With RCS, you’re not limited to text—you can include images, videos, buttons, and carousels to make your message visually impactful.
  3. Personalize it: You can personalize those messages by adding a first name or other specifics depending on the data in your list. Along with segmenting, this kind of personalization can boost effectiveness.
  4. Schedule: Set your campaign to send immediately or schedule it for a future date. You can even schedule a campaign to repeat on a set interval.
  5. Auto Fall back: If RCS is not supported on the recipient's device, it'll automatically fall back to SMS or MMS.

Not sure what to say? No problem. We'll help you pick the right message based on your goal. Just use the chat icon in the Rally platform to chat with our AI-bot or reach a human to scheudle training.

Next steps

  • Feeling creative: RCS supports emojis, HD video, carousels, clickable cards, and branded colors—so you can send messages that actually reflect your mission and grab attention.
  • Conversation: Once your message is sent, you can easily monitor replies and respond to each as they come in. Message replies can even be forwarded to your email inbox or your mobile phone. You can also use AI-powered sentiment analysis to see which replies require a response.
  • More interaction: If you want more back-and-forth conversation, use peer-to-peer texting. It offers more flexibility in sending rates, which can make it easier to manage conversations. That can be especially helpful for managing a group of volunteers.
